Peer Syed Mudassir Nazar Shah is the Sajjada Nasheen of Darbar-e-Alia, Saroba Sharif located in the Jhelum district. He is a socially and politically active leader who serves his community, country, and spiritual obligations. Additionally, he is the co-chairman of the Netherlands-based Universal Sufi council and one of the three heads of the Fatwa council.
Mr. Shah is also the founder and president of Salook, an Islamabad-based Sufi think-tank established in October 2014. Salook is dedicated to researching the inner dimensions of Islam, the current religious discourse in Pakistan, and promoting religious harmony, peaceful co-existence, universal brother/sisterhood, and inner and outer harmony in Pakistan.
In addition to his leadership roles, Mr. Shah is the Head of Global Imam Council for South Asia and has been elected as the President of Pak U.S. Alumni Network – Islamabad Chapter.
With a wealth of knowledge on current affairs, Mr. Shah is well-versed in pressing issues such as the current religious discourse in Pakistan, extremism and terrorism, Balochistan, and Pakistani politics. He received his early education from Mach Bolan and holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Balochistan University in Quetta.
